iPhone Repair Blunders that you should pay attention to

In the iPhone repair community there are many different atmospheres you may encounter, if you have had your iPhone repaired more than once and visited new repair shops each time then you probably know what we are talking about.

How to tell if your repair shop is using good parts?

This is sort of obvious sometimes. If the iPhone falls apart before you leave the store then something is obviously not right, but there are ways other than the obvious to tell you "got your money's worth" when you shelled out that hard earned cash for your repair.

#1 Does the ear speaker have a chrome grill or a really fine mesh?

This does not really condemn the part of it's usefulness, but if you paid top dollar for a iPhone repair and it has a mesh that is chrome you should proceed with caution. This is not only an aftermarket part, but a cheaply made aftermarket part. The part will work, and get the job done, but may be more prone to breakage over its counterparts.

#2 All iPhone repair shops, except for Apple, Sell Aftermarket Parts!

If a shop tries to tell you that they have sold you an OEM part, RUN. OEM parts are only available to Apple and Apple has yet to officially license any third-party repair shop for the repair and replacement of iPhone screens. If you are ever told the OEM part wise-tale you should probably search out someone who is more honest in their business practices or knowledgeable about the product they sell.

#3 Look for iPhone repair shops that are structured as Sole Proprietorship Businesses

Ok, so how do you tell if you are dealing with a proprietorship? Easy, call the shop and ask to speak to the owner. If they give you the runaround or tell you he/she is not available then I would take my business elsewhere. See if they are interested in taking a message or if the conversation slows to a drag when you ask to speak to the owner.

The reason we recommend sole proprietorship businesses is not just because Bartlett Electronics is one, but because you actually are dealing with an individual when it comes to your repair services. It's more personal, and a person on an individual basis is always more trustworthy than a company who can pass you off to the next phone 5-10 times, 50-100 miles away.
